Air Duct Cleaning in Sacramento, CA

Air duct cleaning removes the dust, mold, pet dander and construction debris that build up inside a home's ductwork and get pushed back into the air every time the system runs. Air Flow Solutions CA has cleaned ducts across Greater Sacramento since 2014. Most homes take 1–3 hours, and every technician is licensed, insured and certified.

How often should air ducts be cleaned?

The industry standard, set by NADCA (the National Air Duct Cleaners Association), is every three to five years for a typical home. That interval shortens considerably in real-world conditions.

Clean them sooner if any of the following apply to your home:

  • You have pets that shed — dander and hair collect fast in return ducts
  • Someone in the house has asthma, allergies or a respiratory condition
  • You have finished a remodel, or had drywall or flooring work done
  • You have just moved into the house and do not know its service history
  • You have had a rodent or insect problem anywhere near the ductwork
  • You can see dust blowing out of the vents when the system kicks on

Can dirty air ducts affect your health?

Yes. Dust, mold spores and allergens that settle inside ductwork do not stay there — they get recirculated through every room each time the heating or air conditioning runs. For most people that means more sneezing and more dusting. For anyone with asthma or allergies it can mean noticeably worse symptoms indoors than out.

Sacramento's long dry summers make this worse than in most of the country. Fine valley dust gets pulled into return vents all season, and homes stay sealed with the AC running for months at a time.

What does professional duct cleaning actually remove?

Look at the before-and-after photos further down this page — that grey blanket coating the inside of the duct is what comes out. Typically it is a mix of household dust, drywall and construction dust, pet dander, pollen, insulation fibres and, in homes with moisture problems, mold growth.

We use professional negative-air equipment rather than a shop vacuum, so debris is pulled out of the system instead of being pushed further in. Cleaning products are non-toxic and safe around children and pets.

Will cleaning my ducts lower my energy bill?

It can help, but be sceptical of anyone promising a specific percentage. Heavy buildup restricts airflow, which makes the blower work harder and the system run longer to reach the same temperature. Clearing that restriction removes the extra load.

The honest framing: duct cleaning is primarily an air-quality and airflow service. Lower runtime is a common side effect, not a guaranteed number.

How the service works

01

Inspection

We open and inspect the supply and return runs and show you what is actually in there before quoting anything.

02

Containment

Floors and furnishings are protected, and the system is put under negative pressure so debris travels out, not into your rooms.

03

Agitation and extraction

Rotating brushes and compressed-air tools break loose the buildup along the duct walls while the vacuum pulls it out.

04

Vents, registers and verification

Registers and grilles are cleaned separately, then we walk you through the result so you can see the difference yourself.
